When Albert realized that he was a connoisseur of fine quality men dress shirts, he began searching the world for what the definition of man’s worth would entail.
Just a short three years ago, he had an idea to get on a plane and fly to various countries in search of entrepreneurial inspiration. There, he met many successful businessmen who opened his mind to many possibilities, and he knew then that success is definitely one of the attributes to measure a man’s worth.
He continued to search further and wider for that moment when he found his passion to kick-start the retail empire which epitomizes quality in terms of shirting fabrics; trims; accessories; packaging and excellent customer service. Dressing up, showing up and representing earned Albert confidence and absolute respect. From this he realized that he had become the ambassador of fine men’s shirts – and it was this realization that he wished for all men.
Settling for less is not something Albert is used to. He had achieved an Honours Degree in both Information Studies and Sociology, and well on his way towards an LLB (Postgrad), whilst simultaneously fast moving on to building an empire.
Alongside his career path, being a dedicated father and family man led Albert to be all of what he is and what he wanted in life; and for him, this needed to translate into what he wants to give to the world. This is the passion and drive which has led to Zedel.

After realizing that a man’s fine dress shirt, with the best stitching, quality trims, crisp collar & cuff and premium cotton would make a man feel like he deserves the finest things in life, he and his family took to finding that label which was meant to represent this superior range.
The name Zedel came as a result of the initials ZL, which sounded ZED EL.
Albert begun research into the name Zedel to see if it was available but alas, it was not. What he did find made him want the name for his brand, even more. The name “Zedel” was tied to class and respect. This is exactly how he saw his own Zedel. So the name remained because a Zedel Man, he says, “should represent a life of a prestigious person”.
The journey has begun – from a small idea, to representing a man who knows his worth.
